Engine
Rocker assembly, including rockers, valves (excluding burnt valves) spring and guides, cylinder head (excluding cracks) and gasket push rods, camshaft and cam followers, timing gears, chains and belts (providing proof of manufacturer’s recommendations for changing is supplied) oil pump, pistons and rings, cylinder bores, cam rods, gudgeon pins, crankshafts and crankshaft bearings, fly wheel and ring gear. Minor oil leaks are not covered.
Gearbox – manual
Failure of the following internal mechanical parts: gears, synchromesh hubs, selectors, shafts, bearings and bushes (excluding transfer gears) major oil leaks.
Gearbox – automatic
Failure of the following internal mechanical parts: shafts, gears (excluding transfer gears) clutches, brake bands, valve block, valve, governor, oil pumps, bearing and bushes, servo, major oil leaks.
Torque converter
Failure of internal mechanical parts
Continuously variable transmissions
Failure of any internal mechanical parts: clutches, planetary gears, reduction gears, shafts, variable pulleys, thrust link drives, bearing and bushes.
Differential
Failure of the following internal mechanical parts: Crown wheel and pinion, differential unit, gears, shafts, bearing and bushes, thrust washers and spacers, major oil leaks.
Front wheel drives
Failure of the following mechanical parts: Drive shafts, constant velocity joints, universal joints (excluding gaiters, rubber drive couplings, hub disc assembly and wheel bearings)
Rear wheel drives
Half shaft bearings
Cooling system
Water pump (excluding radiator and all air conditioning)
Electrical systems
Starter motor and solenoid including pre-engagement mechanism and Bendix driver, alternator
Please note that we do not cover power window mechanisms, radio cd players or sat/nav systems, also alarm systems or immobilisers because the high frequency on the base has been known to affect the electronics
